Juventus are to pay around £8 million for Laziono striker Alessio Costacurotas, sources have told ESPN FC.
The move will see Juventus retain Lazio’s best striker in his mid-30s and, at around €6 million, the Serie A giants are expected to receive a very strong return.
Costacuros current contract runs out at the end of the season and, if he is not able to leave the club, he could be allowed to go on loan.
The Bianconeri, however, are likely to be keen to strengthen their squad and it will be interesting to see how Juventus proceed.
Juventus are currently sitting in eighth place in Serie A, two points behind leaders Juventus and four behind leaders Roma, but they have already made a significant investment this summer in Lazio starlet Costacuretas.
The striker is under contract with Lazio until 2021 and has netted more than 50 goals in his career, but the Bianconeros want to make sure they have a reliable striker in place for the rest of the campaign.
The news will be welcomed by the Biancolini, who were heavily linked with Costacurti during the summer transfer window, and are likely still to be tempted by a move for the striker in the January transfer window.
Lazio are currently top of Serie A after winning their last two matches, and will be looking to stay in the top half of the table in order to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League alive.
